Bringing the early years sector together
Friday 15th May saw Samantha and Sandra from Hygenisys exhibit at Nursery World’s Big Day Out, held at the Business Design Centre. Bringing together nursery owners, managers, practitioners and suppliers from across the sector, the day highlighted just how important collaboration has become within early years education.
It was encouraging to see so many professionals openly sharing experiences, challenges and ideas. All with the shared goal of creating safer, stronger and better-supported environments for children, staff and families.
Managing day-to-day compliance challenges
For Samantha and Sandra, many of the discussions reflected the real day-to-day compliance challenges nursery teams are currently navigating. One topic that came up time and again was risk assessments, particularly those that have been forgotten about, become outdated over time, or no longer reflect how settings are operating today.
Health and safety continue to be a key priority across the sector, with many nursery teams focused on strengthening procedures, reviewing documentation and creating safer environments for both children and staff. With a continued focus on accident prevention and the involvement of Environmental Health Officers (EHOs), many nurseries are actively looking for practical support to strengthen their procedures and documentation.
